Our Underlay
Underlay sits between your floor and your carpet to provide a wide range of benefits, some of which are often overlooked.
Thicker flooring underlay is often seen as a more premium option when it comes to a new floor in your home. This is because thicker underlay offers a range of benefits that can improve the overall performance and longevity of your flooring.
We offer a high quality 8mm underlay free with all carpet orders with a step up to a 10mm and 11mm option available

Better Comfort
One of the benefits you may think of straight away is an improved under-foot feel for better comfort. Thicker underlays will provide more cushioning enhancing the comfort of your new carpet
Better Looking Carpet
Thicker underlays absorb the weight that is applied from heavy usage as opposed to the carpet pile itself which allows your carpet to continue looking brand new for years to come.
Heat Insulation
You may be familiar with the "tog" rating on duvets. Did you know that underlay is also given a tog rating and helps to insulate your home? The denser materials keep the warmth in so not only do you get increased comfort but savings on your energy bills also.
Reduces Noise
Much like it's ability to insulate heat, underlay also helps with insulating sound significantly reducing the in-room noise as well as reduce the noise in the rooms below where the underlay is installed.
Longer Lasting Carpet
Underlay absorbs impacts and shock preventing wear and tear to your carpet helping to maintain the health of your carpet for longer. It also serves as a barrier for any spills or moisture which may cause damage to your sub-floor over time.
Improves Hygiene
As the underlay keeps your carpets pile in good condition is remains easier to clean improving the hygene as significantly less dirt gets trapped within the pile itself.

I had Steph come round to give me a quote in 2022 for my living room, dining room and hallway. The lads came but unfortunately I don't know their names, sorry guys 😞 they were very good, polite and helpful.
I have just recently had my bedroom fitted by Lee, I Cannot give this man enough praise he was brilliant. He was on his own and had to move a disability bed, which I thought no way can one person do that, but he did!!
He moved a wardrobe that should have not been there as it wasn't on the fitting form but he did it anyway 😀
Lee gave me good advice on how to take care of the flooring which was brilliant.

Today I had my new floor laid by Lazy Carpets, Steph was very informative when she came to see me and my husband . We are both disabled and pensioners and Steph could not do enough to ease our minds about picking what we wanted and shown a lot of samples without a sales pitch, today we had our floor done by two fitters phill and Adam they were very professional and well mannered . Made sure we were happy every step of the way, very clean, made sure we were completely satisfied with the work and even shown us the finish flooring and informed us if we had any questions or doubts, then we were to just give them a call. They also made sure that we were completely satisfied with the results made sure the area was clean and tidy before they left 💯 over the moon with my new flooring and I would 💯recommend lazy carpets to anyone I couldn’t have asked for a better team of fitters.
